WATERING YOUNG PLANTS

The information on this subject is based on our own experience
and is intended as a guide only.

Young plants need some moisture, but over watering is detrimental.

A young plant in fair soil with good drainage and plenty of mulch around it should not need a lot of water.

Mulch is the important thing to retain the moisture.

As a guide if you look at a young plant in the heat of the day and the new growth tips are wilting
(like the one in the photo) it usually indicates it needs a little water,
however if the tips are only wilting a little and the day is nearly over wait until the morning.
If the plant is still looking sad then it definitely needs some water
but do not water excessively very wet root systems will kill Grevilleas.
